Stop $1.2 Billion in School Cuts
#PublicSchoolProud
- Arizona public schools are facing $1.2 billion in cuts this school year unless the Legislature acts before March 1, 2022, to waive the school spending cap (Aggregate Expenditure Limit)
- This funding has already been collected and allocated to teacher and staff pay for April & May of this school year
- This will mean teacher layoffs, program cuts, and potentially even school closures.
- The AZ Legislature must approve a one-time exemption to the spending limit. This requires a 2/3 supermajority vote by March 1st.
